One Spark Schedule

Here’s the schedule for programming at our One Spark booth! We will be located in Main Street Park behind the Main Library. Along with these demos we will have raffles for gift bags with goodies such as gift certificates, cook books, kitchen gadgets, local spirits and more!

The Organic Adventure11:30 am The Organic Adventurer will be presenting “Loco for Locavorism.” It will cover what “local food” is, why eating local is good, where to get local food, and a bit about using and cooking it. She will have samples of fresh, local produce that have been generously donated by Berry Good Farms.

Chef’s Garden Cooking with Intuition

Noon-1:30 pm The Chef’s Garden Catering provides all the delectable dishes for The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens and they run the The Cafe at the Cummer. See them at our booth or go visit the Cafe during Tapas Tuesdays for a glass of wine on the beautiful deck under a large oaks.

For their demo Chef’s Garden is going to Cook with Intuition. An intuition BBQ Sauce with their signature beef brisket sliders and Smoke IPA Boiled Peanuts!

SunRAWise will demo 3 easy raw vegan recipes using the “cheeses” that you can sample.

Berry Good Farms4-5 pm Berry Good Farms is involved with another great One Spark project, Farm to Truck! Farm to Truck is a food truck that offers nutritional lunch & fresh organic produce operated & grown by students with intellectual disabilities. At the Gastrofest booth, they’ll be mixing up some farm-to-bar mojitos!

The vision of Berry Good Farms is to provide a self-sustaining industry for North Florida School of Special Education Transition students and graduates, encompassing education and post-graduate compensated employment. NFSSE students will be trained in the field of horticulture and production of agricultural goods. Berry Good Farms allows NFSSE to expand its current curriculum and vocational programs to include farming of fruits, herbs and vegetables to be marketed to restaurants, schools, caterers, event planners and the local community. The industry employing students and alumni with intellectual disabilities will provide sustainable food in an ecological manner. The mission of Berry Good Farms is to teach and employ intellectually disabled individuals while providing the community a valuable service through local enterprise, entrepreneurship, and educational opportunities.

 

Concious Eats, Nut Dukkahs add texture, flavor and protein

5-6 pm Conscious Eats is also another great, food oriented One Spark project. Conscious Market is an aggregator of resources to enable other social enterprises to gain access to materials out of their budgets.  As a guest of Gastrofest, they will teach you how to play with flavor layers by using their aromatic dukkahs and infused dried fruits. Sample their delicious slaw!
